This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and proposals are being requested.
Requisition Number W912HZ22T0245 is being issued as a request for proposal (RFP) with intent to award as a single contract. The solicitation document and incorporated provision and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-07. This requirement is for full and open competition under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811219 with a Small Business Size Standard of $22.0 million dollars.
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg MS 39180-6199 has a requirement for a service contract for the S8 Tiger Spectrometer is needed for continued operation. This is a patented instrument and only a certified company capable of support, maintenance, or upgrades to ensure manufacturing specifications are maintained is required.
Mission The Environmental Processes Branch (EPP) of the ERDC Environmental Laboratory supports customer/stakeholder decision making for the Corps, the Army, and the DOD by providing research and technical expertise in the area of toxicology, systems biology, conservation, microbiology, soil science and beyond. The Soil & Sediment Geochemistry Team (SSGT) study the fate and transport of contaminants in soils and sediments to develop novel tools to meet customer needs. The main goal of the SGGT is to characterize the chemistry by which contaminants interact with environmental solids to aid in the determination of remediation strategies.
A service contract for the S8 Tiger instrument will enable the SSGT to continue meeting project goals.
Background The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Laboratory (EL), Environmental Processes Branch (EP-P) requires means to monitor how stressors and/or contaminants impact microbes, insects, birds, and mammals as well as the fate and transport of contaminants through the environment.
