Title: Transportation Logistics and Services –Frozen product -70°C and -80°C

C-1 Background:

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) is the Nation’s repository for medical supplies, drugs, vaccines, and other related equipment. The SNS exists to re-supply the 48 Contiguous United States, and its OCONUS states of Alaska and Hawaii, the District of Columbia and U.S territories in the Caribbean, and in the South Pacific. SNS provides medical response in disaster events, especially to biological, chemical, terrorism and the myriad of various virus events threatening the U.S. The SNS has stored Pharmaceuticals, and Lifesaving Medical Counter Measures (MCM) products within the U.S. at multiple locations to ensure rapid delivery to areas in need. To increase SNS response readiness, ASPR SNS consistently prepositions and provides readiness equipment and material to other state, local, Federal partners, and U.S territories before and during actual emergencies and natural or man-made disasters. Product inventories to be utilized must be transported to the disaster locations upon request from the state, local and tribal territories.
