Describe your market research efforts and efforts to ensure that offers are solicited from as many potential sources as is practicable:

There is no other mentoring conference that is national in scope and convenes national service grantees, youth, practitioners, and researchers, from all levels of the mentoring sector. There are other conferences that reach specific audiences in mentoring, but do not have the broad reach that is required of the National Mentoring Summit to market our agency in the streamlined and cost effective platform to support our agency mission. Examples of similar conferences that target specific sectors of mentoring, include:

The Mentoring Institute at UNM Mentoring Conference (http://mentor.unm.edu/conference/) - Each year, the Mentoring Institute hosts its annual mentoring conference. It features four keynote/plenary sessions and over 300 presentations total, the 2014 conference brought close to 700 people to New Mexico. We aim to host a broad constituency, which includes divisions of higher education, academic researchers, educators, community leaders, administrators, non-profit partners, government agencies, and other professionals. At the 2014 Mentoring Conference, 87% of attendees were faculty, staff or students from higher education. The remaining 13% are from the areas of health care, government, non-profit, and corporate/business.

The IUPUI National Mentoring Symposium (http://symposium.uc.iupui.edu/) – The Mentoring Symposium is a one-day national conference for students who work as peer mentors in various capacities. This event allows for peer mentoring programs from around the nation to come together in an effort of personal and professional development. Peer mentors, program staff, and faculty will enhance their skills and increase their understanding of strategic methods to mentor students.

The National Mentoring Symposium (http://nmsevent.com/) - Canada’s second national conference on mentoring and will strive to advance the unique contributions of mentoring to the well- being of children and youth, volunteer mentors and communities across Canada by highlighting innovative partnerships, promising practices or programs and the state of the research.

International Mentoring Association Conference (http://mentoringassociation.org/conference-2015/) - Best Practices in Mentoring: Tools & Strategies for Success” offers opportunities for to share tips, tools, and ideas that have worked best for you and your organization, to learn effective tools and strategies from others, and to build your mentoring network.
