Heating System Closed Loop Treatment Contract Scope of Work

SUMMARY OF WORK

Project Location: All work is located at the Boston National Historical Park specifically Charlestown Navy Yard 5th Ave buildings, Bldg-109, Bldg-10, Bldg-32, Bldg-5, Bldg-265, and Bldg-I & -G together. On 1st Ave Bldg-32, and on 3rd Ave Bldg-107. Outside the park on Monument Square we have Bunker Hill Lodge, and Bunker Hill Museum in Charlestown MA.

General Scope: From September through April Monthly water testing and treatment of closed loop heating systems will be performed to adequately maintain the boiler water to the acceptable industry standards.

During the Base Bid period Maintenance on all boiler systems shall include a chemical pipe system cleaning process, flushed, refilled, tested and treated along with the continual monthly testing and treatment on the 1st week of each month for 8 months, September through April.

During the Base Bid Period we anticipate that the initial cleaning process and first treatment will cause strainers to clog, and they will be required to be cleaned within this SOW.

The four additional bid periods are for continuous monthly testing and treatment of closed loop heating systems and treatment to keep boiler water at acceptable industry standards and or working levels. (Reference section G-1 for building square footage and G-2 boiler type information) Contractor’s Use of Premises General: Company is responsible for contacting the designated maintenance personnel decided by COR in order to have access to utility rooms to service equipment.

Storage of Materials: There is limited use of storage for materials and must be approved by Contracting Officer and or Contracting Officer Representative prior to bringing on-site.

Work Restrictions On-Site Work Hours: Work shall be performed during normal business working hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except as otherwise arranged with Contracting Officer.

Parking at the site: Limited at each building site contractor to plan according.

Bid schedule quotes shall include labor, equipment, materials, transportation and overhead costs.

SUBMITTALS

Submit any catalogue cut sheets (supplier information) and SDS’s of proposed chemicals, product and associated features for approval.

Hard copies of SDS related material for all chemicals to be used must be turned in to NPS for review and approval along with any changes of chemicals during this contract life.
