About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details NAMRU SOUTH's requirement to procure specialized molecular diagnostic equipment for field-based pathogen detection. Specifically, the department seeks two mini portable PCR instruments (PreciGenome Fast-16 portable Real-time PCR system) and one portable battery power supply to enable Point-of-care (POC) testing for Dengue, influenza, and SARS CoV-2. The equipment will support rapid, accurate clinical decision-making in environments with limited laboratory access. The items are to be shipped to NAMRU SOUTH's Defense Postal Mail address in Washington, DC, and the Fast-16 portable Real-time PCR system has already been validated with the laboratory's existing reagents.

PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

The Centralized Laboratory Department of the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit SOUTH (NAMRU SOUTH) is seeking to purchase two mini portable PCR instruments and one portable battery power supply to implement a Point-of-care (POC) for molecular detection of Dengue, influenza and SARS CoV-2 in the field. POC devices aim to provide timely and accurate information to inform clinical decisions and improve rapid response especially where the access to laboratory is limited. At this point, the fast-16 portable Real-time PCR system from PreciGenome has been validated to be used with the reagents used in the NAMRU SOUTH centralized laboratory.

Items should be shipped to NAMRU SOUTH’s DPM address:

3230 Lima Place Washington, DC 20521
