There is no set-aside designation, and the government has not disclosed any potential incumbents or current contractors. The government has also not provided any estimated award values or budget ranges, nor have they specified quantities of goods or timelines for services.

BACKGROUND

The CJIS Division Enterprise Architecture (EA) team, located in Clarksburg, WV, provides architectural guidance to CJIS systems serving the criminal justice community.

Currently, IT project related activities for CJIS systems have occurred in self-managed environments (estimated 10 total), segregated by projects using various toolsets, architectures, and languages. CJIS projects have traditionally operated as autonomous entities and personnel movement between systems often requires retraining in the many aspects of development, administration, testing, and securing projects (e.g., learning new tools and processes, new system logins, administrative burden, etc.).

The CJIS Division is striving to unify the environments that are used by developers, system administrators, database administrators, testers, security engineers and other technically focused staff. To support this initiative, the CJIS Division will utilize an RFI and canvass available sources to explore, visualize, and demonstrate concepts to the diversified community of employees involved in an overall IT professional-centric environment. The FBI is seeking vendors that are willing to document an environment that operates in CJIS-controlled/administered government cloud, allows for interconnectivity to existing systems, and provides flexibility to cover staff needs for all tools used in the daily work environment. Tooling for software development, system administration, automated system and security testing should be included in the final documentation to memorialize these concepts for later implementation.
