2. Organization Drivers This section describes the organizational needs we aim to address through this initiative as well as the specific behaviors and metrics we hope to influence.
Organization Need
These courses are being developed to improve the organization’s ability to reach a statewide audience with high quality professional learning that can be accessed any time and anywhere. As a Statewide Field Team responsible for providing professional learning to districts, schools and regional service agencies throughout the state, we recognize the need to provide this professional learning in a variety of delivery models. Face-to-face professional learning has been our most common delivery model and has been held in multiple locations throughout Michigan. Even with multiple locations being offered, some participants attending our professional learning have significant travel time to reach our venues.
As demands for our professional learning has increased we also recognize the time required for district and school leaders to be away from their day-to- day jobs to attend our professional learning events. In an effort to be responsive to the needs of the field we have created level 1 E-Learning courses that allow for just in time access to our professional learning content. While this has been helpful, we recognize the need to enhance our participant’s interaction with the content and each other. To enhance our participant’s access, interactions and learning we have identified four specific courses where we believe the learning needs can be best addressed through level 2 or level 3 E- Learning programs.
3. Performance Goals By completing these courses, educators will improve their ability to:
• Describe how systemic reconfiguration impacts student, teacher, and leader performance
• Describe the teacher collaborative routines most closely aligned with increasing student achievement
• Describe the practices and intentional structures associated with teacher collaborative routines
• Describe the need for developing communications, problem-solving and performance management driver systems within a district
• Describe the inter-connectedness of district systems with teacher collaborative routines as defined by the Blueprint for Systemic Reconfiguration
• Describe the knowledge and skills necessary for a building leader to successfully lead change within a district pursuing systemic reconfiguration
Success Indicators
This initiative aims to have a substantial impact on the following performance indicators:
• Increase understanding of the Blueprint for Systemic Reconfiguration district systems, driver systems and building routines
• Increase understanding of the Teacher Collaborative Routines within the Blueprint for Systemic Reconfiguration
• Increase the knowledge and skills of building leaders to lead change at the building level
• Increase the knowledge and skills of building leaders to lead systemic reconfiguration at the building level
4. Product Requirements This section of the RFP describes our requirements and preferences for the E-Learning program.
