About this file

This is a work item specification for dockside repairs to the USCGC HUDSON (WLIC 801) during FY2026, specifically for deck covering renewal in interior wet/dry spaces.

The specification requires the contractor to renew deck covering systems in two locations totaling 600 square feet: the Crew Head and Showers (210 sq ft, location 1-111-0-L) and the Galley and Mess Deck (390 sq ft, location 1-131-0-L). Both areas are steel deck and must be covered with Cosmetic Polymeric Epoxy Resin, Type III (One-Step Epoxy System) per SFLC Standard Specification 6341, Appendix A, with cove base installed and new insulating underlayment. The contractor must furnish and install protective coverings to seal off adjacent vessel components and spaces, handle known interferences including tables, galley equipment, shower enclosures, and head fixtures, and remove all protective measures upon completion. Performance requirements include taking 50 ultrasonic thickness measurements of deck plating in Coast Guard-designated locations prior to primer application (per SFLC Std Spec 0740, Appendix C), submitting a color chart for approval, and conducting a visual inspection with a Coast Guard inspector to ensure the installed deck covering is uniform, free of defects, blotchy areas, pooling, ridge marks, and runs, with only negligible embedded surface contaminants. Any imperfections that may cause premature failure must be corrected before acceptance. Work shall be performed in accordance with SFLC Standard Specifications 0000, 0740, and 6341, and referenced Coast Guard drawings 160-WLIC 103-002, 160-WLIC 1106-01, and 160-WLIC 1900-01.
