About this file
This document is an Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) for veterinary centrifuges, prepared by Tamara Green, Dr. Leslie Hopson, and Liz Leyva on March 12, 2025. The Army Medical Command requires six centrifuges to support Medical Veterinary Service Support (MVSS) clinicians in deployed settings, replacing outdated equipment discontinued by the manufacturer in 2019. The procurement includes six centrifuges, training, a 5-year warranty, MIL-STD cases, and shipping, with provisions for two optional units. The related federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: W81K0425Q2725) specifies that centrifuges are essential laboratory devices used to separate mixtures through centrifugal force, enabling critical analysis of blood, plasma, urine, and fecal samples for military working dogs and animals.

| Description of Purchase: | The government has a requirement to procure centrifuges. Clinicians in deployed Medical Veterinary Service Support (MVSS) use centrifuges to separate blood/plasma, urine/sediments, feces/parasitic matter for analysis, diagnosis and treatment of military working dog/animals. The current centrifuge and OEM parts are no longer procurable or supportable as the manufacturer has discontinued the item in 2019. As a result, the Army is updating this device to maintain service ability. | |||||||
