About this file
This document amends a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Center of Excellence in Climate Measurements Program. The amendment makes three revisions: it changes the merit review output from numerical scores to adjectival ratings of Outstanding, Good, Average, and Below Average; changes the Selecting Official from the Associate Director for Laboratory Programs to the Director of the Program Coordination Office; and changes the selection basis from rank order to adjectival ratings.
The related federal grant opportunity is soliciting applications from eligible applicants to create an interdisciplinary Center of Excellence in Climate Measurements. The Center will coordinate activities to establish standardization of methods and metrics for forecasting climate trends impacts at community scales. It will conduct research and act as a convener by collaborating with stakeholders to develop standard practices, tools, and methodologies to help communities quantify climate effects. The funding instrument is a cooperative agreement. Applicants include other eligible entities. The funding activity category is science and technology research. The federal agency is the National Institute of Standards and Technology within the Department of Commerce. The federal grant program is Measurement and Engineering Research and Standards under CFDA 11.609.
