About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Questions and Answers (Q&A) from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for a potential solicitation (CBP-RFI-08142025-001). The Q&A covers four key areas of inquiry from potential vendors: procurement strategy, legacy systems, anticipated award timeline, and technical details about the Linux platform supporting the AMOSS (presumably a CBP system).
CBP's responses indicate that the procurement strategy is still under consideration and will be determined after market research. The agency confirmed there are no additional legacy systems to address, and specific details about the award timeline will be provided in a future Request for Proposal (RFP) if CBP decides to proceed. Technically, AMOC currently operates a mixed Linux environment, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 8 and 9, and limited deployments of Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. The document suggests the procurement is in an early exploratory phase, with no definitive commitments made at this stage.
