About this file
The Charter Township of Canton has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Construction Management Services involving three specific renovation and addition projects across different municipal locations. The projects include the Sheldon School (budget: $1 million), Western Wayne Building (budget: $2 million with potential additional private funds), and Summit on The Park (budget: $4.3 million). The RFP seeks a construction management firm to oversee projects with varying scopes, including building additions, interior renovations, demolition, and facility upgrades. The proposal is due on October 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., to be submitted online through the bidnetdirect.com/MITN Purchasing Group web portal.
The Township will evaluate proposals based on municipal firm experience, staff/team experience, project approach, local resources, Experience Modification Rate (EMR), and construction management fees and costs. Each project has specific funding and completion deadlines, with Western Wayne and Summit projects targeted for completion by September 30, 2026, while the Sheldon School project has a more flexible timeline. The total project budget is $9.3 million, and proposing firms must follow Township bidding requirements, work effectively with multiple architecture firms, and provide expert input during the design phase to optimize cost savings and project efficiency. The contract will be awarded to the most qualified construction management firm providing the best value and service to Canton Township.
