STATEMENT OF WORK

U.S Department of Homeland Security U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations National Canine Enforcement Program

Impact High Anxiety Crate (Qty:29)

BACKGROUND

U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) utilizes contracted and General Services Administration (GSA) leased kennel facilities to house their service canines. While these facilities serve a purpose, there is growing interest in exploring alternative housing arrangements that could enhance canine well-being, strengthen the bond between canines and their handlers, and potentially improve operational effectiveness.

CBP OFO is initiating a pilot home kenneling program for its enforcement and agriculture canine teams. This pilot program aims to thoroughly assess the feasibility, benefits, and operational impacts of allowing handlers to kennel their working canines at home. CBP OFO is in pursuit of obtaining residential indoor kennel housing for OFO service canines for the purpose of home kenneling. Kennel housing for CBP OFO service canines must adhere to the Animal Welfare Act and Animal Welfare Regulations.
