Project Overview Update the CAC with new displays and provide Microsoft Teams functionality to both the NIPR and SIPR computers. Provide necessary components for capability to connect lectern at either front or back of room.
Displays Upgrade Remove existing Mitsubishi projection cubes and replace with installed supports system to mount LCD displays in their place. Wall opening will be expanded by others. Bidding contractor to provide and install necessary support structure for mounting displays. Provide three (3) 65” TAA-compliant LCD displays without any built-in wireless cards or chips. Mount the displays in the opening provided, and fill in the remaining gap with MDF or similar painted matte black for a clean finish.
Provide three (3) 4K60 AMX DXLink receivers, one for each 65” display. Reprogram AMX system to provide HDMI video and RS232/TCPIP control to the 65” displays in place of the old video/control the Mitsubishis used. The AMX matrix switcher has existing DXLink outputs available, no new output cards are required. Replace the three 22” ceiling-mounted gallery monitors with 27" TAA-compliant monitors.
Replace the ceiling mount if necessary to support the new monitors. Connect new monitors to existing video and power connections.
Microsoft Teams Connectivity Provide two (2) AV-to-USB conferencing bridge devices, one for the NIPR computer and one for the SIPR computer. Bridge should support USB3 speeds of 5Gbps. Mount bridge devices in the rack, and provide a USB3 extender for each bridge to the computers. Connect existing HDMI outputs on the AMX matrix switcher to the HDMI inputs on the bridges. No new output cards are required. Reprogram the AV system to send the same camera to the bridges as to the VTC codecs, observing the same secure/unsecure guidelines as are currently in use. Connect existing audio outputs on the audio DSP to mic inputs on the bridge devices. No new output cards are required. Reprogram the AV system to send the same microphone mix to the bridges as are sent to the VTC codecs, observing the same secure/unsecure guidelines as are currently in use. Replace the existing SD camera at the back of the room with a new HD camera mounted to the ceiling in a half-recessed enclosure. Provide a new 4K60 HDMI input board for the switcher, the card will replace the existing DXLink input card the SD camera connects to. Rearrange other DXlink inputs if needed to make room to remove the card.
Connect the new camera to the new HDMI card. Reprogram the AV system to provide PTZ controls to this camera and to switch to this camera in place of the SD camera.
Lectern Wall Connection Upgrade Remove the existing lectern DXLink transmitter from the system, and move the lectern DVD player to the rack. Connect DVD player to HDMI and IR connections on the AMX switcher and controller in the rack, and reprogram as necessary. Replace the existing DVI extender that provides the wall-mount preview monitor with video. The new extender should be powered from rack only (no power required at display side), and should utilize a single shielded Cat6 cable. Mount the receiver on the wall or the monitor so that the lectern is not utilized for the extender. Provide a new AMX MXA-MPL device and install in rack. Utilize an existing HDMI output on the matrix switcher, no new output card is required. Cable the touch panel connection on this new device to a wall plate location at the rear of the room. Reprogram the AV system to always send the same video signal to the new MXA-MPL and the existing Lectern Preview MXA-MPL. Provide two (2) wall plates to connect/disconnect the remaining lectern components, so the lectern can be connected at either existing front-of-room location or a new back-of-room location. Provide cabling and wall plates necessary to connect the lectern touch panel, lectern mic, and lectern L/R audio (verify this is still used and necessary). Lectern should be able to be moved freely to either location without the need to reconfigure or redeploy any systems or devices.
