Questions and Answers
# Question Answer
The IFB doc [specifically Attachment D – Bid Quote Sheet] includes a note exempting any price escalation. As bidding is for a 5-year contract, is the exemption for price escalation able to be waived?
The stipulation on price escalation reads: “No escalation is allowed. All prices are fixed for the term of the contract.” This refers to price changes subsequent to contract award. This stipulation cannot be waived.
However, note that the Attachment D - Bid Quote Sheet is designed to accommodate a reasonable annual increase in prices/rates, at a bidder’s discretion, at the time of bidding. Once bid, these prices are fixed for the contract term.
