The project involves removing graffiti within the cave area that measures approximately 800 square feet, located at the Mesa Peak fire road at the top of Corral Canyon road in Malibu. The scope includes cleaning graffiti from the interior (800 sq. ft.) and exterior (500 sq. ft.) of the cave using compressed walnut shells, as well as cleaning 100 feet north of the cave (300 sq. ft.). An optional job walk is scheduled for April 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Sealed bids are due by April 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Angeles District Administrative Office in Calabasas. The contract performance period is 30 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
The project includes a base bid for the main graffiti removal work and an alternate bid for additional graffiti removal along Mesa Peak road from the gate to Corral Canyon Cave (approximately 600 sq. ft.). A 5% Small Business preference is available for certified small businesses or non-certified businesses subcontracting 25% to certified small businesses. The Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation is encouraged but not required. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid complies with the requirements, subject to available funding. If the lowest qualified bid including alternates exceeds available funds, the project may be reduced by eliminating alternates.
