About this file
This document is a Statement of Work for a Design-Build project to improve the medium voltage electric infrastructure and power production and distribution system for standby chiller function at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) campus in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
The key objectives are to correct medium voltage and low voltage duct bank settlement concerns, replace an existing medium voltage feeder, install above-ground medium voltage switches, and construct a new medium voltage generator yard with an electrical vault to provide uninterruptible chilled water production. The project will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price Design-Build contract to the lowest cost technically acceptable offeror. The work will be executed in multiple construction phases, with specific requirements for the contractor's project management team, quality control, and safety personnel. The contractor will be required to integrate the new electrical equipment with the existing SCADA and relay protection systems on the NIEHS campus.
