About this file
This document is a specifications sheet for a federal procurement to acquire Multi-Fruit Juicer (MFJ) Citrus Juicer, 2nd Generation equipment for the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Subtropical Insects & Horticultural Research Laboratory in Fort Pierce, Florida. The procuring activity requires three units of citrus juicers branded as JBT or equal. The equipment must utilize whole fruit extraction technology that simultaneously separates peel, seeds, and membranes from juice and pulp while instantaneously preserving optimal juice flavor. The juicers must process whole fruits of varying sizes across all citrus varieties including oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, and tangerines with adjustable pulp content, multiple processing speeds ranging from 25 to 33 feet per minute, an 80-pound hopper capacity, a .040 strainer tube with additional size options, and a removable reservoir to accommodate pitchers. The equipment must process multiple fruit sizes without requiring equipment or part changes between operations.
The procurement includes several ancillary requirements beyond equipment supply: vendor-provided removal of three existing Generation 1 MFJ Juicers with available trade-in opportunity, vendor-supported installation and training, and three years of preventative maintenance through yearly service calls. Delivery is required to USDA ARS SEA Subtropical Insects & Horticultural Research Laboratory, 2001 South Rock Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34945.
