About this file
This document is a specifications attachment for a federal procurement of laboratory equipment for the USDA Biologics Development Module (BDM) facility in Manhattan, Kansas.
The procurement requires one (1) cell imaging multimode plate reader specified as brand name or equal to AGILENT CYT9M-SN CYTATION 9 MULTIMODE READER. The system must perform multiple detection modes including UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence intensity, luminescence, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence, and alpha detection. The instrument must accommodate microplate types ranging from 6- to 1536-well plates depending on reading method and must feature both top and bottom reading options for solution-based and adherent cell-based assays. Key technical specifications include temperature control up to 65°C with condensation control and shaking capabilities, CO2 and O2 control options, fluorescence intensity detection wavelength ranges of 250–900 nm for monochromators and 200–850 nm for filters, luminescence detection wavelength of 300–700 nm, and fluorescence polarization detection wavelength range of 280–850 nm. The system must include integrated upright and inverted microscopes with imaging modes (fluorescence, phase contrast, brightfield variants, and color brightfield) and imaging methods (single color, multi-color, montage, time lapse, z-stacking).
The contractor must provide onsite installation, start-up, and software training with qualification verified through customer site acceptance testing. All deliverables must include operation manuals, software manuals, software installation procedures, required PC and software, component confirmation documentation, and regulatory compliance documentation. The purchase price must include all packaging, shipping, and shipping-insurance costs. Government Furnished Property is specified as none.

Attachment 2 Specifications
Cell Imaging Multimode plate reader, Manhattan KS
Brand Name or Equal to AGILENT CYT9M-SN CYTATION 9 MULTIMODE READER
Background and Scope The USDA Biologics Development Module (BDM) requires multimode plate reader with capability to work in various detection modes including UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence intensity, luminescence, fluorescence polarization and time-resolved fluorescence to accurately measure end point, kinetics, spectral scanning, and well-area scanning. The instrument must be compact that is equipped with automated microscope combined with multimode detection to capture quantitative data and phenotypic information in a single system. The system must be incorporated with upright microscope, inverted microscope, gas control option, temperature control, and shaking capabilities. It must also have software with automated image capturing, analyzing and processing in a single system.
