The project scope requires the contractor to demolish an existing 1,296 square-foot wooden storage building constructed in 1983 and replace it with a new 2,400 square-foot pre-engineered metal building featuring four garage bays. The new building must be a rigid frame structure with a single slope roof, dimensions of 40 feet wide by 60 feet long, designed per 2021 International Building Code with roof live load of 50 psf, ground snow load of 30 psf, and wind load of 105 mph (Exposure C). The contractor must supply and install two hollow metal exterior flush doors with locks (4/0-7/0 dimensions) and four 12' x 12' overhead doors with individual chain hoist operation in dark brown or white. The building exterior requires 24-gauge standing seam roof panels and 26-gauge Purlin Bearing Rib wall panels, both with PVDF finish and stainless steel fasteners. The contractor must also construct a 2,400 square-foot concrete floor slab with minimum 4,000 psi compressive strength, concrete stoops at each personnel door, remove an existing Ponderosa pine tree stump, provide all temporary utilities (electrical, water, and toilets), remove construction debris daily, and complete all work by August 1, 2027. STATEMENT OF WORK
Project Title Lone Mountain Storage Building Replacement
Project Scope The scope of this contract is to demolish the existing storage building and replace with an approved new storage building conforming to the specifications herein, located at the Lone Mountain Tree Improvement Area. The existing storage building is in need of replacement due to failing wooden structural supports, lack of security measures to protect accountable property (i.e. open bays, no lockable garage doors or man doors), and unsuitable bay dimensions to house upgraded tree coolers. This storage shed is used to store seed orchard equipment for maintaining the tree improvement area as well as storage for the local district's tree coolers used for planting in support of reforestation.
Project Location The construction site is approximately 7 miles north of Rathdrum, Idaho on West Seasons Road off on State Highway 41 in Athol, Idaho. The site is located on the Idaho Panhandle National Forest and is an administrative site maintained by the Coeur d’Alene Nursery. Lone Mountain Tree Improvement Area is surrounded by a 7’ high game fence and is only accessible through a locked gate. The existing wooden storage building was built in 1983 to store equipment used to maintain the Lone Mountain Seed Orchards. The building is 1,296 sq. ft in size and has a four bay, doorless open front with walls on the North, East and West sides. The building is on a concrete pad and there is no power or water to the building. The site is level, unpaved, unencumbered by overhead or underground utilities and free of trees or other growth.
There will be no blasting or rock removal required during excavation, and no ground water issues will be encountered.
