3.0 Project Description:
The purpose of this project is to modify Room 101B in Bldg. 55 to create a functional BSL‑2 quarantine entry consisting of two sealed anterooms. 5.0 Background:
Invasive insect species pose severe risks to Florida agriculture. The USDA ARS laboratory requires a secure and functional BSL‑2 quarantine area to conduct research before infestations occur. Room 101B currently does not have the appropriate containment or entry sequence. Installation of a double‑anteroom system, sealed doors, and access control is essential to maintaining containment integrity and supporting ongoing research.
