About this file
This document is an addendum to the Brisbon Road Rehab and Sidewalk contract opportunity issued by the state of Georgia for Bryan County. The project consists of roadway rehabilitation, including full-depth reclamation and pavement, as well as the installation of a 5-foot sidewalk on one side of the Brisbon corridor. The work also includes updating signage and striping, and installing conduit for lighting along the corridor.
The addendum provides clarification and additional details related to the project. It does not appear to contain any information about pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient commercial terms.

PREPARED FOR:
BRYAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
T&H PROJECT NO.
J–27691.0068
ADDENDUM NO. 2 August 20, 2024
GENERAL
This Addendum has been issued on behalf of Bryan County Board of Commissioners. The following information should be considered by prospective bidders in preparation of their proposals and is hereby incorporated into the Proposal Documents. Bidders shall be responsible for acknowledging receipt of this addendum in the Bid Form, Document 00313. Failure to do so will result in the proposal being considered non–responsive.
PART I – QUESTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS:
A. QUESTIONS:
Question 1: There is no Pay Item for SD Structure’s #7B (Std MH) or 1-B2 (D-4 Grate Inlet).
Answer: Items updated with addendum.
Question 2: Could you please add a Pay Item for Aggregate Surface Crs for use at driveways and Brisbon Rd storm drain crossings?
Answer: Driveway pavement structure specified in plan General Notes with the addendum.
Question 3: Could you please add a Pay Item for Class B Concrete (Pvmt Widening)?
Answer: Class B Conc Widening added to typical sections in addendum 2. The price for using Class B Conc Widening should be included in the cost of Grading Complete.
Question 4: There is a Pay Item for Portland Cement. However, the Pay Item for FDR states
“includes material”. Please clarify that the unit price for FDR does not include the cement.
Answer: See GDOT Spec 315 as mentioned in the General Notes, specifically section 5
“payment”.
Question 5: Since there is no summary of surfacing quantities. Could you please clarify where the 4” GABC is to be used?
Answer: Item updated. Driveway structure is specified in the General Notes with the addendum.
Question 6: What is the intent for the existing side drain pipes? Removal or fill with flowable fill? There is no note on the plans indicating removal.
Answer: Those shown as new pipe will be replaced. Those shown as existing will be retained.
\\thomas-hutton.local\dfs\Projects\27691\27691.0068\Documents\Construction\Bid\Addenda\Addendum 2 Addendum # 2
August 20, 2024
Question 7: There are no notes on the plans. What is the intent for the existing driveways? Full removal and reconstruction, partial removal for pipe installation, if so what is the patching detail for trench patching? In some areas the new Side Drain pipes are beyond the end line of the proposed driveways.
Answer: All driveways are being reconstructed, except those specifically noted, as shown in the plans and in accordance with the General Notes in the addendum.
Question 8: Since there is going to be FDR, can the Storm Drain Crossing on Brisbon be backfilled with stone and no concrete patch?
Answer: Backfill according to GDOT standards.
Question 9: Can Town Centre road be close to through traffic during construction?
Answer: Any proposed road closures should be coordinated with the City of Richmond Hill and Bryan County.
Question 10: In our opinion the contract time of 120 calendar days is not achievable. Would you consider extending that to 210 days?
Answer: The contract time is 270 calendar days.
Question 11: The plan shows power poles in the sidewalk and adjacent to the timber bridge. Pile installation equipment will be in conflict with the power lines. Can steel, segmented, low overhead piles be installed instead of long timber piles?
Answer: The timber boardwalk has been eliminated from the project.
