About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 dated September 10, 2026, issued by the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department for the Buffaloe Road Athletic Park Track and Field Improvements project. The addendum clarifies specifications and contractor questions regarding track construction, turf products, field striping, temporary construction elements, and shade structures. Key clarifications include: excavation and inspection of existing base materials prior to reinstallation with geotextile; Shaw as an acceptable turf product; three large flag football fields with inlined yellow lines and four small fields marked with tick marks; corrugated metal pipe for temporary risers; and Superior Shade or approved equal for cantilevered shade structures. The addendum also confirms that TenCate Allsport Ultra and Shaw are acceptable synthetic infill turf products, while GeoFlo + Shock Pad System is not approved. A virtual pre-bid meeting was conducted on August 27, 2026, via Microsoft Teams with representatives from the City of Raleigh, CHA Consulting, Berry Building Group, Bar Construction, and GeoSurfaces in attendance.
The addendum contains no revisions to the original specifications or plans. The prebid meeting attendee list captures five City of Raleigh representatives from the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, two representatives from CHA Consulting (the engineer), and representatives from three apparent bidding entities: Berry Building Group, Bar Construction, and GeoSurfaces (representing TenCate grass products). Written questions were due by September 8, 2026, with sealed bids required by September 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The addendum does not provide pricing information, contract award criteria beyond lowest responsible and responsive bidder, or contract term details.
