About this file

This document is a Memorandum for Record - Absence of Competition for a federal contract for Communications Fly-Away Kits. The National Guard Bureau (148 Communications Squadron) is seeking to procure 2 embedded-services routers with specific technical requirements, including PoE-enabled Cisco 6300 ESR and ESS-3300 embedded-services switch. The equipment must be inter-operable with existing KLAS equipment per ATO requirements and must be on the DoD Information Network Approved Products List. Each router requires a rugged chassis with on/off switch capabilities, 120W power output, 72Wh battery backup, 12VDC output, and a removable ignition key. The routers and chassis must combine in pairs that fit into 9"x14"x22" cases. The contract will be a firm fixed price using O&M, Air funding, with the procurement justified under 41 USC 1901 as a brand name requirement necessitated by equipment compatibility and network approval specifications.
