About this file
This document is a Brand Name Justification, which describes the rationale for procuring specific metallurgical lab equipment from a sole source. The key details are:
The requested hardware interfaces with pre-existing, on-site equipment and policies at the United States Naval Academy on a routine basis. The equipment must be compatible with all current equipment and accessories to maintain the form, fit and function of the Naval Academy's curriculum. These are "direct replacement" parts/components for existing equipment that the Naval Academy currently utilizes. All previously purchased accessories are expected to be compatible with the new equipment to promote a seamless transition among Naval Academy students. The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) intends to award a Brand Name Firm Fixed Price Contract in support of the United States Naval Academy using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
