About this file
This document is a single source justification for a simplified acquisition under the simplified acquisition threshold for temperature sensors. The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center proposes to enter into a new firm-fixed price contract with Cooper Atkins for their TempTrak temperature sensors, which will be used by the facility's Biomedical Engineering department to monitor temperatures in newly opened spaces. The justification cites that TempTrak sensors are the only probes compatible with the facility's existing Cooper-Atkins TempTrak software and temperature monitoring system, which is used hospital-wide. Alternate sensors would not be compatible with current software and hardware, preventing effective temperature monitoring to ensure safe patient care. Market research identified TempTrak distributor Trillamed as the only service-disabled veteran-owned small business or small business capable of meeting this requirement.
