About this file

This document is a Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition) for the procurement of ALFA Military Altimeters with hand mount. The requirement is for 25 altimeters at an estimated cost of $30,000. The justification states that these altimeters are the only ones approved for use by the Air Force Personnel Parachute Program and are required for military jump operations. Market research was conducted but no other sources were found. The contracting officer has determined that this is a brand name justification under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and a total small business set-aside solicitation will be issued.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the procurement of the ALFA Military Altimeters. It incorporates relevant FAR, DFARS, and DAFFARS provisions and clauses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334511 with a size standard of 1,350 employees. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to the offeror who meets the lowest price and technical acceptability. Quotes are due by the solicitation close date.
