Questions-Renovation of Quarters - 45
1. Can you please clarify the sentence in section C #4 Specific tasks (all areas that are not being remodeled or altered for or per the specification or new equipment shall be renovated.)?
Answer= That sentence is to be taken in conjunction with the next sentence in that paragraph. Basically, reworded in another way, the entire interior of the house is to be renovated. The renovations which are to be performed, besides the very specific activities listed in the Statement of Work are: repairing and painting all existing walls and trim in the entire house, refinishing the 2nd floor and basement tubs, stripping and refinishing the tile floors in all existing bathrooms, replace all existing toilets and bathroom sinks, replace all existing toilet accessories and bathroom fixtures, replace all light fixtures, and refurbishment of stairs.
2. I can see how we can refinish the floor in the hall bath up stairs because that is just a pull and replace, but the first floor bath is being demolished. Do you mean the basement floor?
Answer= All flooring in the entire house is to be either refinished (old tile or wood floors), repainted with epoxy (basement floor), or carpet replacement for all remaining areas
3. There is no information for the 3rd floor or the basement, is there work to be done there other than the tub re-finish in the basement?
Answer= Painting and carpeting on the 3rd floor and epoxy painting on the basement floor.
4. It seems like the specification sheet is a very generic scope. Is this the case or do we need to follow each line item as specified?
Answer= As described in the narrative under section 4 “This is a remodel/renovation. With all remodels/renovations, there are unknown factors hidden in the walls or other building components. Some of the specifications listed below shall only become applicable if a situation arises from an unknown factor, which requires specifications or details. All specifications that can be applicable throughout the remodel/renovation process shall be required.” Basically, yes this is a generic scope, and the specification will only apply if they can apply.
5. Are we re-doing hot water heater or boiler or tying into existing? There is mention of a tankless, do we include that?

Answer= Sand and Finish
7. Do we re-pipe or tie into existing plumbing through-out Answer= Tie into existing plumbing Through-out
