SUBJECT: Brand Name Justification for C22-063 AC Power Supply
1. California Instruments Model 4500LS-3-HF is a programmable AC power source / analyzer that with precise output regulation and accuracy, high load drive current, multi or single phase mode and built-in measurement capabilities, Ls Series AC sources address many application areas of AC power testing. The AC power supply provides power for the F110-GE-100/129 and F-16 digital electronic controls for the Test Program Set (TPS).
2. MTU Automatic Test Equipment Utilization identifies the component that are required for AC Power. The California Instruments Model 4500L-3P-4657 is listed as the required AC Power Supply for testing the F110-GE-100/129 and F-16 digital electronic controls. The California Instruments Model 4500LS-3-HF is the replacement model for the 4500L-3P-4557.
3. Therefore, it is requested that California Instruments Model 4500LS-3-HF Brand Name equipment is procured to meet all the requirements of the program office and subsequently the warfighters.
4. Market research was conducted to find potential vendors that could provide the California Instruments Model 4500LS-3-HF. The following websites and data bases were used: Dynamic Small Business Search and System for Award Management databases using North American Industry Classification System Codes of 335999 and FSC code 6130 Converters, Electrical, and Non-Rotating. A request for information was issued to 460 vendors on GSA eBuy. Eleven (11) Vendors responded with only two (2) providing quotes. A review of small businesses to include 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and Women Owned Small Business was also conducted.
