The Defense & Aerospace Competitive Intelligence Service (DACIS) is unique in that it a relational database that focuses on the defense industry. DACIS captures, connects, organizes, and reports on information related to prime contractors, sub primes, awarded contracts and customers – both funding agency and contracting agency and programs. DACIS links suppliers to individual programs and contracts allowing for drill down into a specific companies involvement on single or multiple programs. DACIS reports having coverage of over 17,000 programs across more than 5 million contracts, some dating back into the 1970s.

Why is the only company that provides this services?

4. Implication of Procuring another Brand/Manufacturer.

Access to the DACIS including the FPDS (Federal Procurement Data System) Pro module service allows SEA 05C to provide rapid turnaround on specific industrial base company queries, and to have up to date knowledge into a company’s defense program involvement, in addition to the company news, and merger activity. This level of contract detail and program specific work is not disclosed in financial reports furthermore, DACIS covers both public and private suppliers. We are not aware other providers that offer similar integrated access to such contract and company data for the defense industrial base.

b.) ☐ Substantial Duplication Of Cost To The Government That Is Not Expected

To Be Recovered Through Competition.

For the reasons set forth in Paragraph 3 and 4, NSWCCO has no plans at this time to compe future contracts for the types of supplies/services covered by this document. If another potential source emerges, NSWCCO will assess whether competition for future requirement feasible.
