Paint Booth Hangar Door Repair

F2E2M58221AW01

$12,481.00

Repairs to proprietary paint booth equipment located in building 898 on Holloman AFB.

The paint booths that are installed have proprietary equipment/software that is required for the full function of the booths. It is not currently possible to repair these booths with a company other than Morehead Industrial Services Inc. Selection of a company other than Morehead Industrial Services would drive a requirement to remove the current paint booths and replace them with systems furnished by the new contractor. Removal of the current paint-booth systems would result in a complete loss of all mission capabilities to paint and refurbish aircraft, aircraft parts, and aircraft support equipment until new systems were installed.

Two competitor companies, were contacted in regards to repair of the currently installed Morehead Industrial Services paint booths. Both companies stated that the current in-use equipment would need to be completely removed and replaced by company specific control systems.

Unless the current Morehead Industrial Services Inc. systems are completely removed and replaced, the in-use equipment and software will remain proprietary in nature. As competitor companies also utilize proprietary equipment, precluding future single source repairs is unlikely.
