About this file
This is an Addendum #1 to the solicitation for the Purchase of Ballistic Helmets issued by the State of Georgia. The solicitation seeks ballistic helmets with a full/regular cut specification and an estimated quantity of approximately 375 units, though the actual quantity ordered will depend on available funding. The helmets must meet or match the specifications of the United Shield Spec Ops helmet model referenced in the bid invitation, and suppliers may propose approved equivalent models. The helmet specifications do not require rails or NVG mounts. This is a one-time purchase rather than a contract with renewal options, and no formal contract template is required as part of the solicitation submission.
Addendum #1 addresses nine questions submitted by potential bidders and clarifies key requirements for bid submission. Notably, no bond is required with bid submission. The County will not evaluate product substitutions, such as the D30 Thrust Nimbus Helmet Pad System proposed in place of the mesh liner, until after bids have opened, placing the responsibility on suppliers to prove equivalency of any alternatives offered. Bidders must sign and return this addendum with their bid submission; failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. The addendum was issued on July 29, 2026, by Diana Turner, Purchasing Associate II.
