July 31, 2024 Addendum No. 2

BL076-24

Purchase and Start-up of Submersible Pumps

The following addition/changes modify the Bid No. BL076-24 “Purchase and Start-up of Submersible Pumps” Contract Documents, dated July 2024, as first advertised on July 02, 2024.

I. Question:

Q1. Are there any drawings available for each station?

A1. There are no drawings available currently.

Q2. Would Gwinnett County allow a site visit to each station to get a copy of the SCADA panel drawing: The reason for visiting each site is to make sure none of them have the 36 by 48 global SCADA panel like the one used at Ozora Road PS. The example panels only provide for 36 by 36. For example, if there are two other types of SCADA panels with similar configurations, one by edison and one by global. It can be verified that the interconnections are the same in advance with these drawings.

A2. A site visit is not necessary for providing bids for the purchase of the pumps and control panels. To assist with knowing which SCADA panel is at each location, the following information is offered.

The following pump stations have SCADA panels manufactured by Edison Automation:

• 2000 West Place

• Centerville

• Mink Livsey

• Roselake

• Southfork

The following pump station have SCADA panels manufactured by Global Controls:

• Millerbrook

• Northbrook #2 All of these panels are 36” x 36”.

BL076-24

Addendum No. 2

Q3. Recently a Smith and Loveless Panel was replaced at Ivy Mill Plantation, and it was not the same as the example panel in the specification. The sample panel was used on an old submersible pump station. My concerns are primarily with the float circuit as shown:

Compared to the later version at Ivy Mill:

If the Ivy Mill Plantation Panel is acceptable, I will use it as an example for the float circuit, but is a separate float junction box being installed?

A3. Control panel schematics will be reviewed during the submittal review process. Float cable termination panels will be installed at each pump station when the pumps are replaced with the new pumps being procured through this bid.

Q4. Sulzer/ABS is an equal to Flygt and the other Manufacturers in this spec. Would it be an acceptable pump to bid for this project?

A4. Requests for approval of an “approved equal” product will only be evaluated following the

Bid opening. Approval of any “or equal” products submitted for consideration will be at the Owner and Engineer’s sole discretion.

All bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this addendum by inserting its number and date in the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the bidder to disqualification. This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents.

Sincerely, Brittany Bryant, CPPB Purchasing Associate III
