1 PROJECT OVERVIEW
Project Objective
The current fuel farm at the Colorado Spaceport consists of three underground storage tank systems and associated components used to receive over-the-road deliveries and dispense into airport-based fuel trucks for distribution across the airfield. The existing systems consist of two paired Jet-A (15,000 gallon) tanks, one
100LL (20,000 gallon) and the potential for an additional 100UL (12,000 gallon) tank. All of these items are at the end of the expected service life and their replacement is the objective of this project.

Owner’s Mechanical Design Criteria
Remove and replace the existing underground fuel storage facility with a similar system for Jet-A, 100
Unleaded (100UL) and 100 Low Lead (100LL) fuels. The Jet-A system will consist of two 15,000-gallon fuel tanks and provisions to fill each tank from an over-the-road truck, as well as fill to a service truck with appropriate controls and metering. The Jet-A tanks shall serviced by a combined offload onload system. The
100LL system will consist of one 20,000-gallon tank and have provisions similar provisions for loading and unloading. The 100UL system will consist of one 12,000-gallon tank and have similar loading and unloading provisions.

Jet-A Systems Description
The Jet-A system will consist of two 15,000-gallon atmospheric double walled tanks with a combined load/unload skid with a pump and fuel filter separator. The load/unload skid shall have provisions for the tanks to be filled by an over the road fuel truck and for the tanks to unload to an Airport operated truck service. The pump and filtration system shall operate for truck offload, truck load and fuel recirculation. Metering shall be provided for both unload and load operations.
100LL Systems Description
The AV Gas system will consist of a single 20,000-gallon atmospheric double walled tank with a load/unload skid with a pump and fuel filter separator. The load/unload skid shall have provisions for the tank to be filled by an over the road fuel truck and for the tank to unload to an Airport operated truck service. The pump and filtration system shall operate for truck offload, truck load and fuel recirculation. Metering shall be provided for both unload and load operations.
100UL Systems Description
The 100UL system will consist of a single 12,000-gallon atmospheric double walled tank with a load/unload skid with a pump and fuel filter separator. The load/unload skid shall have provisions for the tank to be filled by an over the road fuel truck and for the tank to unload to an Airport operated truck service. The pump and filtration system shall operate for truck offload, truck load and fuel recirculation. Metering shall be provided for both unload and load operations.
Inventory Control & Point of Sale System Description
All fueling systems shall have comparable point of sales and inventory systems. Metering shall be provided for both unload and load operations that shall be reported to a centralized inventory management and reporting system. Each tank system shall have provisions to communicate wirelessly to the supervisory computer.
