About this file
This is a bid schedule for Collier County, Florida's Wiggins and Doctors Pass Dredge 2026 project, a grant-funded maintenance dredging initiative advertised under Bid No. 26-8661. The project comprises two primary dredging areas with distinct work scopes. Section A addresses Wiggins Pass maintenance dredging, involving mobilization and demobilization, dredging of the channel with beach disposal (81,200 cubic yards), installation of 15 navigational channel markers and 1 manatee marker, environmental control with turbidity testing, construction surveys, final tilling and grading, debris removal, and restoration of construction access. Section B covers Doctors Pass maintenance dredging, which includes mobilization and demobilization, dredging of the settling basin, turning basin, and west channel with beach disposal (34,400 cubic yards), temporary removal and reinstallation of 5 navigational channel markers, environmental control with turbidity testing, construction surveys, final tilling and grading, debris removal, and restoration of construction access. Sealed bids were required no later than March 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. local time, with prospective bidders required to register on the Collier County procurement portal.
The bid schedule establishes owner allowances of $171,025.00 for Section A (Wiggins Pass) and $75,900.00 for Section B (Doctors Pass), designated for the owner's use to address unforeseen conditions, with the inclusion of allowances in the contract price providing no guarantee of payment. All actual expenditures from owner allowances require change orders with supporting documentation of time and materials. Key specifications include requirements that sand placed on beaches contain no more than 5 percent material exceeding 0.5 inches in diameter, achieved through screen boxes, raking, or other contractor-determined methods. The owner provides materials for navigational channel marker replacement at Wiggins Pass, while the contractor provides manatee marker materials. Dredged quantities are estimated pending results of pre-construction surveys, and debris removal addresses potential storm-related debris removal at a rate of one 20-cubic-yard container per location.
