About this file

This is a Bid Price Form for tree debris removal services issued by the City of Gainesville Public Works Department, Operations Division in Gainesville, Florida. The City seeks qualified contractors to provide on an as-needed basis tree debris removal and disposal services from the municipal material storage yard located at 6033 NW 16th Street. The scope of work encompasses loading, hauling, and disposing of all tree debris at the yard, including brush, logs of various sizes, and stumps. The Invitation to Bid was released on March 20, 2026, with proposals due by April 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. through the OpenGov eProcurement Portal. A pre-solicitation meeting is strongly recommended. The contract term is one year upon execution with four optional one-year extensions. City staff will verify that loads are full before departure and will not assist in loading debris.

Bidders must submit pricing on three separate bases: a per-cubic-yard rate for removal and disposal services along with the estimated weekly capacity in cubic yards the contractor can handle; a per-ton rate for City-owned trucks to dump at an approved dumpsite within Gainesville city limits; and the business hours and availability of the approved dumpsite. Minimum qualifications require bidders to own at least three grapple trucks with body capacity of at least 20 cubic yards and maintain an approved dumpsite within city limits. The City of Gainesville offers a local preference of up to five percent and encourages participation by certified small and service-disabled veteran businesses with no exclusive set-asides. All pricing is firm for the first contract year with allowable increases not to exceed three percent annually thereafter based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index. Contractors must comply with living wage requirements, maintain specified insurance coverage including workers' compensation and public liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, register with E-Verify, and submit required documentation including Drug-Free Workplace Certification and anti-human trafficking affidavits.
