The project involves the full renovation of an existing 19,073-square-foot, two-level Civic Center building and construction of a new 6,025-square-foot, two-level addition. The scope of work encompasses comprehensive building improvements and expansion to support medical examiner and crime laboratory operations. Interested contractors must submit bids by the specified deadline, with particular attention to site conditions, building systems, and specialized laboratory requirements. Bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting to clarify project requirements and inspect the existing facility. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all project specifications and qualifications.

The project represents a significant capital improvement initiative for Northern Kentucky University's forensic facilities. Pricing must be submitted as a firm, fixed-price proposal covering all labor, materials, equipment, and services required for complete project delivery. The contract will include performance standards for quality, safety, and schedule compliance. Contractors should anticipate specialized requirements related to laboratory construction standards, equipment installation, and compliance with forensic facility regulations. Funding for this project is provided through Northern Kentucky University's capital budget allocation. All bidders must demonstrate relevant experience with similar laboratory or medical facility construction projects and provide appropriate bonding and insurance documentation as required.
