About this file
This Bid Notice pertains to the University of California, Berkeley's Department of Capital Projects and Campus Planning, regarding the removal and replacement of hardwood parquet flooring in Zellerbach Hall's Mezzanine Lobby (Level 4) and an optional add alternate for the Upper Lobby Gallery (Level 5). The scope of work includes substrate preparation, crack isolation membrane application, self-leveling compound installation as required, and installation of Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) ceramic tile. The project represents a rebid of the original solicitation, indicating the initial bid process did not result in a successful award. Prospective bidders are required to submit responses by the specified due date, with site visits and bidders' meetings available or mandated to familiarize contractors with project conditions and specifications.
Pricing for this project shall be submitted as a fixed-price bid for the base scope, with separate pricing required for the add alternate work. The project is funded through UC Berkeley's capital improvement budget, and the contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all technical and qualification requirements. The rebid nature of this solicitation suggests that previous bids may have exceeded budget constraints or that bidders did not meet project specifications, and qualified contractors are encouraged to carefully review all project documents and site conditions prior to bid submission.
