About this file
This is a bid advertisement and specifications document for furniture procurement issued by South Lake Public Schools (SLPS) in Michigan. The project involves furnishing and installing new furniture for Elmwood Elementary School, including classroom seating, desks, storage units, and lounge furniture as detailed on the furniture plan and equipment list. The equipment list specifies items from manufacturers including Artcobell, HON, MooreCo, NorvaNivel, and OFS, with quantities ranging from single units to over 500 pieces for certain items such as student chairs and desks. Bids must be received by 1:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the SLPS Administration Building, with public opening and reading of bids at 1:15 p.m. in the Board room. Bidding documents are available starting February 20, 2026, through Wakely Associates Inc., the project architect. All furniture must be delivered and installed with the project substantially complete by August 14, 2026. Bids should include three copies (one original and two copies) of the proposal pricing form and the Iran Economic Sanctions Act affidavit.
The bid structure requires a single lump sum proposal for all furniture items shown on the furniture plan within each group, with no partial bids accepted. Bidders may submit alternate manufacturers if items are equal to or better in quality than specified items, with detailed specifications and color photographs required for consideration. The bid price must guarantee pricing for thirty consecutive days from the bid date and exclude state sales taxes and federal excise taxes, which will be provided through tax exemption certificates. A single vendor will be awarded per group, and the successful bidder must provide freight, installation, and assembly for all furniture items, maintain a project manager on site daily, verify proper counts in each classroom, and provide manufacturer warranties covering material and workmanship. SLPS reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part and to waive any irregularities. Contractors must submit affidavits certifying compliance with Michigan's Iran Economic Sanctions Act and acknowledge potential civil penalties for false certification.
