INVITATION TO BID #2024-31

Metal Framing, Insulation and Drywall for Lake Road Health Center (“BID”)

RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS #3

May 15, 2024

Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation.

The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the BID as published.

1. The blueprints (clarifying questions S1.10, note #2, 550S137-43) shows that the walls underneath the platform will use metal studs 5 ½”in , is it possible to use the 6”in metal studs instead?

***UPDATED****Answer: We need to retract the answer of Yes, 6” metal studs are acceptable, to: No, it is necessary to use the 5 ½” metal stud dimension to maximize the size of the rooms. Ultimately, 2” of interior lineal wall footage will be lost if 6” metal studs are used. In addition to the maximization of interior square footage, the increase of wall thickness will result in the increased thickness of the door jams.
