Scope of Work (25 points) (This field accommodates approximately 24 lines of text or up to 2,500 characters and spaces with no carriage returns.) Provide a narrative that outlines the methods proposed for the protection, maintenance, or restoration of the chemical, biological, or physical integrity of the Great Lakes Basin.
Your proposal should only address important invasive plant species in the Great Lakes watershed (see targeted species in GLRI Action Plan III, and include additional invasive plant species that pose a legitimate ecological threat). Specifically address project benefits and impacts on water quality and species diversity as part of a local watershed plan within the Great Lakes Basin. Clearly demonstrate project objectives in one or more of the following categories: 1) detection, 2) prevention, 3) eradication, and/ or 4) control. Include a monitoring plan that evaluates project success and describes actions taken if objectives are not met, as well as a description of actions that will be taken to prevent the reestablishment of invasive plants.
Priority Landscape (25 points) (This field accommodates approximately 12 lines of text or up to 1,250 characters and spaces with no carriage returns.) Provide information on the site location(s) and its connection to a target water body, including links to the State Forest Action Plan, National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan, Great Lakes Action Plan III, Lakewide Action and Management Plan, Tribal Land Management Plan, and/ or other plans as applicable. Highlight links to State and Tribal priorities, existing watershed plans, and Great Lakes Areas of Concern. Priority will be given to project proposals that clearly demonstrate the benefits to water quality, habitats, plant community resiliency, watershed stability, and biological diversity at the watershed scale.
Measurable Results and Significant On-The-Ground Outcomes/Outputs Expected (30 points) Provide an estimate of results in terms of acres treated. Include other estimated outcomes contributing to community resiliency, watershed diversity, and biological diversity. Cost per acre treated will be a factor in rating your proposal.
