About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding Biometric Collection Devices (BCDs) to support biometric identification operations across federal agencies.

The RFI seeks feedback from industry on the availability of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) BCDs that comply with the attached draft BCD Fingerprint, Face, and Iris (FFI) Requirements Matrix. The matrix includes Minimum Essential Requirements (MERs) that all BCDs must meet, as well as Specific Requirements that apply to certain device capabilities or implementations. DHS is interested in understanding industry's ability to provide compliant devices, identify any problematic requirements, and gather feedback on the overall approach. Respondents are asked to describe their relevant product offerings, applicable standards/certifications, post-sale support, and other relevant details. Responses are due by May 8, 2024 and may be used to develop a future Request for Proposal.
