About this file

This is an addendum to a paving project contract issued by Byron Center Charter School located at 9930 Burlingame Ave in Byron Center, Michigan. The addendum modifies the original bid documents for the CS/Paving Project and establishes key deadlines and project specifications. The bid submission deadline has been extended to Friday, June 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., with the final deadline for submitting questions set for Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. All questions will be answered and distributed by SIGMA on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms to avoid rejection. The project includes paving work, concrete curb and sidewalk installation, and ADA sidewalk ramps, though light poles and wiring within the parking lot will be installed by a separate contractor that must coordinate with the paving contractor to prevent rework. ADA sidewalk ramps do not require tactile plate installation.

Material testing requirements are mandatory for both asphalt paving and concrete work. Asphalt testing requires one test per 5,000 square feet of pavement per lift with a minimum density of 94 percent of TMD, and contractors must perform proof-rolling of the aggregate base after existing pavement removal to identify soft or unsuitable areas, communicating findings to the owner and engineer. Concrete testing includes slump tests per ASTM C143 once per 2,500 square feet of sidewalk, curb, or ramp/wall, and cylinder testing with one cylinder each for new ramps, walls, sidewalks, and curbs, tested at both 7 days and 28 days for compressive strength per ASTM C31 and C39.
