About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Award issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) Printing Services for RFQ #26*0354 regarding the BCC-493 Boiler Certificate Inspection printing project. The project involves printing 20,000 boiler certificate inspection documents. The notice indicates that DTMB Printing Services has completed evaluation of the request for quote and reserves the right to perform the work in-house. Any protests to the award must be submitted electronically through the Vendor Self Service portal no later than the deadline specified on the notice. Questions regarding the project should be directed to print consultant Kristin Bergan at 517-636-7743 or bergank@michigan.gov.
The recommended vendor is Nev's Ink, which submitted the lowest bid of $777.00 and offered a six-week turnaround time. Other bidders evaluated included Image Printing ($786.55), Smart Source ($876.80), Shayleslie ($925.00), and Whitlam ($1,287.22). The evaluation process prioritizes best value to the State of Michigan based on a combination of pricing, turnaround time, price hold terms, whether printing is performed in Michigan, and bidder experience. DTMB Printing Services retains the discretion to award to a higher-bidding vendor if doing so provides better overall value based on turnaround time or other criteria. Additional inquiries regarding the outsource process, bidding procedures, protests, and bid tabulation should be directed to Andrew Hale, Departmental Technician at DTMB Printing Services, at 517-636-0092.
