SAM.GOV registration

Any entity/vendor wishing to do business with the federal government under a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)-based contract or applying for federal grants, cooperative agreements or other forms of federal financial assistance must be registered in SAM.gov. Federal agencies may require entities be registered in SAM for additional processes.

First, a DUNS number is needed.

Obtaining a DUNS (Data Universal Numbering System) number

•DUNS number is a unique nine-digit identification number provided by the commercial company Dun & Bradstreet (D&B).
•If you do not have a DUNS number, you may call D&B @ 866-705-5711 or go to

https://iupdate.dnb.com/iUpdate/viewiUpdateHome.htm. The process to request a DUNS number takes about ten minutes and is free of charge. (Page displayed below)

Upon receiving your DUNS #, please go to www.sam.gov and register under “Create an Account”. This process may take a few hours to complete. (homepage is displayed below).
