About this file

The document is a Basic Goals/Requirements table for a Small Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division. The requirements specify a UUV with key technical parameters, including a weight threshold of 200 pounds (objective: 120 pounds), 4-hour minimum endurance at 3 knots (objective: 8 hours), operational depth to 100 meters (objective: 300 meters), and a maximum length of 45 inches. Additional requirements include a modular open system architecture compatible with SeeByte mission planning software, capability for encrypted data storage, utilization of commercial/government off-the-shelf payloads for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, and autonomous navigation with object detection and threat assessment capabilities.

The RFI invites industry to provide information on UUV technologies, with responses limited to 5 pages and due by June 30, 2026. The Navy seeks to understand the market space and potentially work with vendors to address capability gaps, with the possibility of purchasing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems. Responses should include company information, technology description, benefits, operational intent, technical readiness level, industry capabilities, compliance with requirements, and cost estimates. The RFI emphasizes that submission does not guarantee funding or provide a competitive advantage in future procurement, and the government is not obligated to provide feedback to respondents.
