BARGE CRANE SERVICE

In conjunction with the work being done during the vessel’s dockside availability, this work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to provide a barge crane to remove equipment from and to the Coast Guard Barge and Tender.

Location Work Hours: 0700 – 1500 (All work outside of these hours requires advanced approval from the Project Manager Vessel: USCGC GASCONADE (WLR 75401) Homeport: St Louis, MO.

NOTE

Work MUST begin on start date unless otherwise coordinated with project the manager.

NOTE

Crane must be capable of mooring outboard of the USCG cutter, hoisting 9000 lbs and lowering it on the USCG pier. Approximately 80’ lift and 70’ outreach

1. SCOPE

1.1 This work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to remove and reinstall the following equipment:

· 1ea Allied Marine Crane, TK20-50 Boom

2. REQUIREMENTS

2.1 General. The Contractor shall provide a barge crane with sufficient lifting capacity for the above listed equipment for a minimum period of five (5) hours on the dates specified above. Positioning of the Barge crane shall be outboard of the Coast Guard Barge and the Allied Marine Crane boom shall be hoisted approximately 80’ to the main pier, approximately 70’ outreach. Prior to equipment removal and following equipment reinstallation contractor shall move various tools to and from main pier to floating pier and Coast Guard Barge.

2.2 Equipment Removal. The Contractor shall lift equipment from the Coast Guard Barge to the main pier (approx. 80 feet above floating pier & 70 feet from centerline of the contracted floating crane) using lifting slings and straps provided by the Coast Guard. All equipment will be unfastened, unwired, and readied for removal by Coast Guard personnel.

NOTE

Crane will be required to hold the load over the main pier for an unspecified time while the equipment is positioned on platforms and/or trailers.

SAFETY CAUTION!

All lifting and/or movement of the crane will be directed by a Coast Guard Deck Supervisor (Yellow Hard Hat).

2.3 Equipment Reinstall. The Contractor shall lift equipment from the main pier to the Coast Guard Barge for reinstallation by Coast Guard personnel using lifting slings and straps provided by the Coast Guard.

NOTE

Crane will be required to hold the load over the Coast Guard Barge for an unspecified time while the equipment is positioned and fastened into place.

SAFETY CAUTION!

All lifting and/or movement of the crane will be directed by a Coast Guard Deck Supervisor (Yellow Hard Hat).

3. Quality Assurance

3.1 Certification. Contractor shall provided proof of Certified Weight Test of crane and weight handling equipment within the last twelve (12) months. Proof must be emailed to the project manager no later than one (1) week prior to start of project.

4. Notes

4.1 All persons conducting business with or at the ISC Industrial Coast Guard

Facility and onboard Coast Guard Cutters while moored at this facility are required to meet all applicable safety requirements including weather conditions set forth by the Coast Guard Industrial Facility and the Army Corps of Engineers.
