Culebra NWR – Maintenance Building Structural Analysis 1 of 2 March 13, 2023

STATEMENT-OF-WORK for

CONTRACTOR SERVICES

For the Shop/Office Structural Repairs at the

Culebra National Wildlife Refuge Culebra, Puerto Rico

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

a. The purpose of this scope of work is to facilitate the structural repairs to the Culebra NWR Maintenance Shop/Office building located on the Island of Culebra PR. The repairs are in accordance with the Structural Analysis and Recommendations report prepared by D. Leon Structural Engineering and Gabriel Rodriguez dated 5/24/2023.

b. Emergent repairs shall include:

i. Repair shall include interior wall along axis 3 of the building in accordance with the above referenced analysis and recommendations report. This wall shall be partially demolished and repaired. In particular the area affected by the crack. The wall is to be replaced with a new wall reinforced as indicated in the repair details in the Appendix. Mechanical anchors of the wall to the roof structure are included in these details. The new partition wall will be finished with proper consideration of possible lateral loading therefore providing a safe environment. Repair shall include those detailed in report and also replace any electrical outlets/wall switch boxes and/or conduit encountered during or affected by, the repair. Finishes of repaired section of wall shall match adjacent/existing wall finishes.

ii. Repair by prepping and painting the small corrosion area in the soffit at the Southwest corner of the roof (See report photo 1). It appears to be superficial but should be repaired.

iii. Repair hairline cracks on the East, North and south faces of the building as indicated in the report (see reports Photo 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6). These cracks appear to be the result settlement of the slab on grade. They shall be

2. SCHEDULE

3. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:

a. Any trips to the project sites shall be coordinated through the FWS Project Manager, the Culebra NWR point of contact and Project Leader.
