Questions and Answers Solicitation 140P3021Q0046 CHOH Debris Removal
1. What permits are required?
Answer: The following is from the Maryland Department of the Environment To confirm:
The Department wants to encourage the removal of racked-up woody debris and trash from streams particularly at bridges and culverts. The desire is to keep these structures functioning hydraulically as designed. To do that, we don't require any permit to remove this material provided no mechanized equipment needs to enter the stream channel.
Where we typically draw the line and require a permit is when removal of accumulated sediment or changes to the channel dimensions is proposed.
