AMENDMENT 0001 NARRATIVE
The purpose of this amendment is the following:
1. To answer the following Contractor questions:
Q1: There is a discrepancy between the project summary and Part One Specific Project
1.6 and 1.7. of the SOW. See attached.
A1: Please see the revised Attachment 0001 – SOW, dated 04 June 2020.
Q2: There are different quantities given for deteriorated masonry / dutchman in the project Summary vs. the Specific Project (pg. 2) (50 & 20) vs (100 & 200) Which ones are we to use in our bid?
A2: Please see the revised Attachment 0001 – SOW, dated 04 June 2020.
Q3: In optn 1 you are asking to remove the concrete cap from the first floor lintel on N & S facades. Can you note these on the drawings? (I did not see conc. lintels).
A3: The north and south extensions of the quadriform plan each have three three fenestrations shown in the plans. One of these fenestrations on each façade has been converted to an entrance, and the other two for each façade are currently "storefront-style" windows. It is these openings that contain the concrete caps which were poured over the stone lintels. Note that these concrete caps are not connected to the entrance ramp/pad, and the entrance pad is to remain in place.
Q4: Are we to have a historic architecture conservator in our bid? (you mention one in the mortar matching process, is that your architect?)
A4: The short answer to this is YES, because we cannot force the Contractor to use a specific supplier for the mortar, so they will need to have a historic architect/conservator recommend the mortar mix. That said, if the awarded Contractor uses the same mix that is specified in the attachment, we will approve it without seeking conservator recommendation/endorsement.
2. To incorporate revised Attachment 0001 – SOW, dated 04 June 2020.
W52P1J20R5009
3. To incorporate Attachment 0006 – RIA Custom Blend Mortar Mix, dated 28 May 2020.
4. To incorporate Attachment 0007 – Additional Site Photos, dated 03 June 2020.
5. To extend the question cut-off date and time from 05 June at 10 AM Central Standard Time (CST) to 11 June 2020 at 10 AM CST.
6. To extend the solicitation bid due date from 15 June at 10 AM CST to 22 June at 10 AM
CST
7. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
